Sunday, 29th of April 2007: New version out
Docfrac version 3.1.5 is now available. This has a number of major bugfixes and substantially improves the conversion from HTML to RTF.
The Windows platform and Unix/Linux platform are now available. I will be providing dos32 and w32 console platforms shortly.
The next version (version 3.2.x) will focus on internationalisation:
- handling international text within files,
- handling international file names and
- localising the user interface
Version 3.2.x will be dual-licensed. Commercial for the Windows platform and programming kit. LGPL for all other platforms (including all command line clients).
Saturday, 17th of March 2007
The new version will be coming out in April, including a major bugfix for HTML to RTF.
Support for the Windows platform is becoming very expensive. I am considering dual licensing: commercial for the windows platform and LGPL for all other platforms.
Another possibility is to change it to a BSD style license so there is a "level playing field".
I have had three contributions from the same person, two of which were unable to be used, the third one I used the concept but not the original code:
- Crash on Colouring: entire code refactored out instead
- Rtf2Text Hangs: this code was so broken I couldn't use it at all
- Rtf to Text conversion crashed Linux command: although the code is different to that contributed it is conceptually very similar
Let me know what you think.
